By reading or using the Hardboil Folio website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Nature of the content

Hardboil Folio is an independent culinary publication. Its articles, tasting notes, reference tables and interactive tools are provided for general educational and informational purposes. Please also read the editorial disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

2. Acceptable use

You may read, link to and share the site for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • copy or republish substantial parts of the site without permission;
  • misrepresent our content or imply that the publication endorses you, a product or a service;
  • attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting;
  • use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages to the editorial address.

3. Intellectual property

The text, illustrations, SVG artwork, page design and interactive tools on this site are the property of Hardboil Folio and are protected by copyright. You may quote short excerpts for commentary, criticism, education or news reporting with clear attribution and a link to the source page. For other uses, such as reproduction in print or republication, please request permission at editorial@hardboilfolio.org.

Names of third-party works and authors in the reading list are used for citation only and remain the property of their respective owners.

4. Interactive tools

The stage converter, pairing filter and batch scaler are teaching aids provided as is. Calculations are approximations, and results should be verified with calibrated equipment and reliable instructions before any practical use.

5. Accuracy and corrections

We aim to publish accurate information, but confectionery science, history and taste are matters of interpretation and practice. If you find an error, tell us through the editorial contact page.

6. No professional advice

Nothing on this site is medical, nutritional, dietary, legal or safety advice. You are responsible for decisions you make about preparing or consuming food, including decisions about allergies and safe handling of hot sugar.

7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, and Hardboil Folio is not liable for losses or injuries arising from use of, or reliance on, the site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

The site currently contains no links to third-party websites. If we add any in the future, we will not control and are not responsible for their content.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
